Why luxury fragrance is worth the investment

The concept of lighting a candle and aromatherapy go hand in hand, but have you ever questioned how aromatherapy actually works? In this post we explain the aromatic benefits of investing in candles made with luxury fragrance oils vs regular fragrance oils; and why we splurge on fine fragrance blends at SoonSun Home.

Aromatherapy has been used for centuries and is defined as “the use of essential oils from plants (flowers, herbs, or trees) as therapy to improve physical, mental, and spiritual well-being”. Aromatherapy works by stimulating smell receptors in the nose, which then send messages through the nervous system to the limbic system - the part of the brain that controls emotions. These smell receptors are stimulated by terpenes; the aromatic compounds that give plants their distinct scents, and the largest group of components in essential oils.

Regular fragrance oils contain cheap, synthetic compounds that lack ingredients sourced from nature; therefore excluding the terpenes that trigger aromatherapeutic benefits.

SoonSun Home candles contain only luxury fragrance oils designed using a global palette of raw materials with exotic and well-balanced accords to project rich, luxurious character. Our fragrance blends are multi-dimensional and sophisticated, curated by master perfumers with a discerning nose for quality and luxury. These blends contain unique ingredients sourced from around the world that are not readily available to the mass-market: essential oils of lime from Mexico, lemon from Argentina, Mandarin from Italy, Ylang from Madagascar, Orange Peel from Brazil, Patchouli from Indonesia to name a few.

In addition to providing true aromatherapeutic benefits through the presence of natural essential oils, our fragrances are always vegan, phthalate-free, mutagen-free, cruelty-free, and carcinogen-free. Completely non-toxic, which we will discuss further in our next blog post.

Shop our candle collections and experience true aromatherapy from rare natural oils sourced from across the globe.

Invest in quality.
